2010 Classic

This Year’s Walter’s Children’s Charity Classic goes to the Heart of the matter.

This year’s Walter’s Children’s Charity Classic marked the 15th year of the event and this year proved to be as successful as ever. The past several years have been challenging to get the support that the event had seen in previous years but as the economy begins to change in a positive direction so did participant’s generosity.

This year’s Classic, with the support of many among our community will donate $200,000 to the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital. To date, this event has raised $2.8 million for various departments at the Hospital.

Highlighting this year’s silent auction and dinner was Dr. Leonard Bailey the renowned surgeon who performed the first successful infant heart transplant on Baby Fae 25 years ago at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Bailey shared some encouraging words on the world of Pediatric Medicine and made evident the importance of the support of the hospital. Dr. Bailey is now a Professor of Surgery at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and Surgeon-in-chief of Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
